The Bells Are Ringing....
........for me and my garden. Yes, under the partial shade of my Edamame and Okra, my Yellow and Red Bell Peppers are starting to fruit! I'm very excited. I also have numerous Pods and Blossoms on my Edamame. Now I'm just wondering how Ginormous my Okra is going to grow before they fruit. I honestly believe I would not be experiencing this much success in my garden this year if I'd not been using Mel's Mix. I water 2x a day. Once in the morning and again in the early evening. And even with the extreme heat, my 4 X 4's never dry out. It has been awesome.

Isn't it amazing how much of a kick you can get over something so simple. It is always hugely satisfying to watch!
Re: The Bells Are Ringing....
Great on the peppers! My bells are always green with no color.
Hint: okra likes heat and as little water as you can not give it, without nearby plants being harmed. Okra should bloom when it's 2.5 ft tall if it's hot/dry enough. Okra can get 10 ft. tall. How tall is yours?

Thanks
Thanks Chopper and littlejo! My Okra is about 2.5 high, so if I don't see blossoms soon I'll cut back on their water. Thanks for the tip.

Watering
Started a more selective watering regiment last night to keep the MM drier in the Okra squares. Let's see how that works. Thanks again littlejo!

I hope it helps. I was watering mine all the time and it wouldn't grow or bloom, and when I missed watering, it started blooming. Being in the south I knew it liked the heat. If it's not hot enough, you might try putting a piece of clear plastic, cut to fit, on the ground around the stalk to heat the soil.

High 90's - Low 100's
Hi JO, we've been in the high 90's to low 100's for awhile. So should be hot enough. I will continue the targeted watering to keep the Okra drier and see what happens. Thanks again.
