Pest Control
Hello!
I planted a square foot garden and my animal friends ate everything before I could harvest anything. My plants did not get beyond seedling stage. Has anyone been successful with natural methods of discouraging this?

Re: Pest Control
Welcome to the forum. Being more specific will get better answers. Did they burrow in from underneath, or walk right up and start munching? Small, like rabbits and groundhogs, or big like deer and moose? Maybe some flew in? (I know, technically not an animal, but a pest nonetheless). Insects maybe?
Re: Pest Control
Depends on what you call natural. Naturally animals will eat their way thru your garden. The first thing I did was put up a fence to keep out the rabbits-only 28 in tall. No problems, then, the deer heard thru the grapevine about my garden!
But, deer don't like squash plants. I planted squash(crookneck), pumpkin, winter, all around the outside edge of my garden area.In the grass, not in a bed.
Deer love corn, and they got into the corn in the row garden, but have stayed out of mine in SFG. I've got my fingers crossed. Deer season begins Aug. 1, so, the deer will be stirred up with the hunters and my squash is about at the end of it's season.
