Newbie in Northern Utah
I hope if I have the right forum for my region.
I have two questions:
1. What grows the best and easiest in Northern Utah?
2. Does anyone have a good source for heritage seeds?
Thank You!

I'm a newbie as well, but only to SFG; I've had a regular garden for years. Peas, broccoli, and cauliflower are good spring crops. Tomatoes are always a huge summer crop for us. I bottle salsa and diced tomatoes from our 25 tomato plants. Cucumbers, zucchini, and most squash grow well. I've never had much luck with corn. Seems like it takes WAY too much space and then you get one cob of corn IF the bugs don't get to it first. But I know a lot of people do grow corn; I always get some wonderful stuff at the local farmer's market. We grew potatoes for the first time this year, and they were wonderful. I will definitely grow more red potatoes in the future. Beets, carrots, beans...they all work well. We have a shorter growing season than some places, but you should be able to get two different crops in--a spring/summer crop and a summer/fall crop.
