Hi
Can anyone tell me where I can buy different types of compost in South Florida? Also why we cant get Quoddy Blend that comes from Maine?
I would appreciate any input.
Thanks

Quoddy blend is great stuff. If you go to their website there is a listing of how far their distribution ranges. I suppose the only way you can get some is if you know a snow bird who will bring some back down south for you. there may be a Florida compost company that makes something similar. To answer your other question, well, south Florida is pretty large, can you be more specific in stating your location? I suggest hitting up your local farmers market to make connections for local produced compost. Any dairys or horse stables in your area may have some available.

Thanks for the reply. I live about 30 minutes west of Ft Lauderdale and unfortunately I don't know any
snowbirds. We are transplants from South Africa. I have looked at the Quoddy blend website and sadly they don't come down this far. I will try the local markets and local stables it.

The black kow company distributes in Fl. Black kow, black hen and a mushroom compost all of which are in my gardens along with moo-nure from lowes and another compost that is local to NC. Garden did exceptionally well in the spring and my son is using the same blend in his SFG and doing well except for the heat.

I got Ladybrand earthworm castings from a local nursery here in noth florida. Let you fingers do the walking and see what the local nurseries and green houses carry near you. You might be suprised, they can sometimes order that type of thing cheaper than you can on line too. Very Happy Happy hunting!
