How to save a pumpkin???
Hi,
I need information on how to save a pumpkin. My son came home from pre-school with a very sad, light starved and water logged pumpkin sprout. We poked holes in the cup, let it get used to the great outdoors and finally planted it. The first mistake I made was thinking it would not survive. I put it in an awkward location. Well it prospered. Then it started to grow a pumpkin and now the vine is starting to shrivel and the pumpkin is turning orange. It is July 4th today and Halloween is a long way away. What do I do with this small pumpkin? (After we take lots of pictures) Put it in the garage or in the fridge? I never thought it would live. Thanks for the help.

Re: How to save a pumpkin???
Well, if the vine gave out the pumpkin will survive for a while. I would not recommend putting it in the fridge. Now if it is a small pumpkin, it's probably a sweet little pie pumpkin...instead of a jack'o'lantern pumpkin...
There are some really good recipes for baked stuffed pumpkin, or
I love pumpkin pie! I love pretty much any kind of pie!

If I cut up this pumpkin into a pie, there will be a riot at my house!
