(and supper was too). I decided to try and keep track of what I actually harvested this year. I didn't get around to it with the lettuce, sugar snaps and carrots, but today I did.

From a 1 x 4' section of McCaslan pole beans (planted on both sides of string trellis) I picked 3 lbs of green beans. McCaslan's are very vigorous and grew up & over the frame, back down to the ground. The string wasn't a good idea and I will use cattle panel trellis next year. They are a wide italian type bean, like Roma, only much longer.

I graveled out 2 3/4 lbs of red potatoes from the end of a section. The vines are starting to die, so I will be getting potatoes pretty regularly now.

My garlic was a huge success. The tops have already died back & I harvested huge bulbs. I'll weigh them & take pics after they have dried some and I get them cleaned. I also pulled most of my onions and for the first time EVER I have several big onions!

I also got the first ripe blackberries. I only got to the house with a few of them. They were so good!!

The chickens contributed their share with 10 nice eggs over the last 2 days. The small one is a pullet egg.

I
