After replanting several times because of the "rascal" that kept attacking my 4x4 box, I can proudly say I am the mother of baby carrots and baby garden peas!!!! The peas are sprouting nicely and you can just barely see the green sprouts of the carrots. Ah, I've got babies... I've got babies!!!!!! 803620 I also appear to have some sick babies...I think I've got powdery mildew on a few leaves of one squash plant I've got babies!!!!!! 675916. Do I cut them off, treat with fungicide (organic), or both?

I had some powdery mildew appear on my zucchini and yellow squash plants....I treated it with Garden Safe Neem Oil Extract I purchased at Lowe's, and it solved the problem. Garden Safe also makes a ready to spray with Neem Oil Extract called Fungicide 3. Both work really well!

When you say treated...what specifically? Did you need to spray the plant multiple times according to the instructions. How long did it take before you noticed it was gone? I purchased it yesterday morning just to have on hand and low and behold I see the mildew this morning. Go figure.

Not sure about the mildew but the post title caught my attention because being my first year SFG, I was telling friends that my sprouts feel like my babies lol! I'm glad I'm not the only one! Very Happy

I've been more aggressive about cutting off affected leaves this year and it seems to have helped. I've been inspired by Acara's tomato pruning and the YouTube video about staking/pruning zukes and realized that cutting off leaves doesn't hurt the plants and they can do without many leaves.
