Weekend TOR-CONs..
Guys, I just saw the outbreak entering our region from Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa. So, I thought I'd put these up for tomorrow and Monday. Note: Eastern Kansas was only a 4 today, but people are seeing whopper storms around the KC area. There can still be a severe outbreak with tornadoes with low TOR-CONs. There just may not be a widespread outbreak.

We got rain, but that's it. They say there is more coming, has anyone heard that too?
Re: Weekend TOR-CONs..
I have an incredibly good friend in Joplin. He kept me very straight in college. It took years to figure out he was my influence....and I his. We made a great blend.
Anywhoo, he lives in Joplin and his wife works at St.John's, the hospital that was severely damaged.
I have yet to hear from him. I keep wondering how they are, and I pray it wasn't her shift to work last night.

OK west except panhandle - 5
OK central -4
OK east - 3 to 4
KS south-central,southeast - 4

It looks like another active pattern is setting up over the midwest. Look for periods of storms the next few days. Keep those eyes on the skies!
FYI, Joplin was a 4 yesterday. And, that tornado will likely be an EF4 or EF5 once the NWS gets over to look at things. The TORCON numbers don't mean a tornado is or is not likely. TORCONs are telling you how widespread the outbreak will be. There is only a slight correlation between widespread outbreaks and how likely you are to be affected.

Re: Weekend TOR-CONs..
We had something go over head this AM, not sure what it was exactly. Heard thunder in the distance, breeze picked up, no lightening, but a few sprinkles. Then as I was cleaning up our chore mess (putting things up the kids SAID they did) I heard thunder right smack dab above my head, never heard that before, not really loud, just a rumble, like a bowling ball. There were dark grey, not black, clouds right above us, not swirling, just kinda moving along, but a bunch of rumbling in those clouds. I did not stick around long to see what it was, I finished up and went in, nothing happened, just kinda spooky.

BBG, you can go here https://safeandwell.communityos.org/cms/index.php and search to see if your friend has checked in. This is the Red Cross's site.
