I have a lot of left-over vinyl siding from a remodeling project. I was thinking about using it for my potato box/towers. Would there be any health issues with this?
I know some vinyls can leach chemicals into the soil but I would be more concerned that there would not be enough stregth in the siding to contain your soil. Or am I misunderstanding how you are planning on using it?

Instead of just the 4 corner supports of the tower like those using lumber, my stakes will will be driven into the ground (more than just the 4 corners), vinyl siding inside this, then soil mix & potatoes. that way the weight/volume won't make it bow out. Sounds like it would work to me, but it may not.
