So I finally get all the warm season plants out/planted:

a dozen tomato plants
a dozen peppers
eggplants
squash
zucchini
okra (just started to germinate)
corn (likewise, just pushing through)

and then this freak cold front rolls in... supposed to be down to 41 tomorrow... Not really a danger of a freeze, but I am sure that its not going to help anything grow...

uggh....

OK, rant done, but I don't feel any better Smile

If it is Monday night for that cool cool temperature, you might want to consider covering the plants for the night. Without hoops, you might consider stakes around the bed, a couple of stakes inside the bed, and then covering with remay or even a couple of sheets.

None of those plants like 40* Sad

Sorry, but I just can't wipe the smile off my face...we're only supposed to get up to the 70s today and tomorrow and we just got a sprinkle of rain!

I'm with you ellie! I am more than ready for the cooler "spring like" weather. We just jumped right into summer with no spring here. 70's are welcome anytime here!

Big difference between 70's and 40's... I love the rain though - 2 and half inches in the last 36 hours... I just saw that it will be 90 again on Sunday... I wish we could find a happy medium...

We had snow last week I have hoops and put a small heater in there to keep
it in the 50s at night. Were supposed to have mid 30s to mid 70s this week
so I Ill open the hoops in the mornings and close them at night. The only
plants having issues right now are my cucumbers so I planted a couple more
yesterday and will thin them out if the current ones survive.

Rain finally stopped - three and half inches... still won't break the drought, but certainly was helpful.. one very cool night and then a slow return to normal

ashort, we got enough up here to lift the burn ban. I'm kinda glad for the cooler temps, my broccoli has not yet bolted and I still have cabbage out there. But then too, the tomatoes have slowed in growing, oh well ya can't have it all.

I pulled the rest of my brassicas last week so I could put tomatoes in... besides the wormies were in them... stoopid white butterflies...
