Shallot reports?
On the old forum several folks were trying shallots. I'm curious to know
how they are doing. I planted mine last October and they are looking so
good now! When the rain (and possible snow!) moves out of our area,
I'll try to take a picture. I was worried after them being buried under
snow since about mid December, but I think they must have liked the
moisture and the insulation. I planted them in the front side of the
squares where some tomatoes are going to be planted. figured by the time
the tomatoes need more room, the shallots will be ready to pull up.
All
had some spinach I planted in August survive the snows. We had been
eating from it up to mid-December...then the record breaking snows moved
in. It was a surprise to see it still living. It's already gotten new
leaves! Threw some on my pizza the other night.
I love spring! I
love playing in the dirt and watching my seedlings take off. :o)
