Hi there, we're a homeschooling family that live near Athens, Georgia. I've always done a garden, but have never been too successful because we live in a subdivision where we can't do anything but small, raised flowerbeds. We are turning this into a school project for our son.

So, howdy!

Hello from the Dirty South! 997193 What a great idea to use it as a school project. How old is your son?

Hello from the Dirty South! 396615 Hello from the Dirty South! 396615 Hello from the Dirty South! 396615

SO glad to have ya! I'm probably about 3 hours from Athens!

They don't even allow you to have veggie gardens in your backyard? Boy, they really are strict aren't they? This sounds like a great way to get around the regs!

Do you have the All New SFG book? It is a fabulous resource and teaching aid. It will provide answers to many questions you might have, so keep it handy. Also, if you have any additional questions please feel free to ask away. We are a group that loves to help where we can. With such a diverse group of people someone is bound to be able to offer some advice.

Also, please visit our middle south regional forum. There you can make connections with others in the middle south and ask region specific questions and get tips and tricks specific to our region.

Take care and happy gardening.

PS. Be sure to plant potatoes and carrots. Kids LOVE to dig those up!

Hello from the Dirty South! 396615 we too are homeschoolers, there are a few families luking here. I have a feeling that most of us are now able to do more in the garden than post about it, like we are. Keep us posted, and as for your subdivision's rules, that's why we live in the country. We don't do well with rules we don't like.
