Just a quick hello, My name is Keith and I am a new gardener and a square foot gardener as of the end of August in Mobile ,Alabama. I currently have one 4x8 garden and two 4x4 gardens. I built my beds out of Cedar and made my own Mels Mix because the pre-mix is not available here. My first crops consist of Cabbage, Carrotts, Spinach, Finger Potatos, microgreen and arugula lettuce, Broccolli, elephant garlic and red and yellow onions. I am very excited about the coming spring and planning out my gardens to feed my family of three.
I have followed all of the suggestions and have had very good results with this first try. I have already eaten many delicious salads at this time. I am waiting for other items to mature.

I am also an owner of a restaurant and I have been composting very actively with waste from the restaurant. I have one complete compost bin ready to go and have started on a second one.

My interests include fruit trees and strawberries and tomatos for the spring, I also have been studying aquaponics and worm vericompost as well.

I am excited to have this forum and will definately post some pictures and stay in touch. Any other gardeners from Lower Alabama please feel free to contact me and we can share ideas.
