Deer Poop in Compost?
Hi Everybody. We are new to SFG and have just started a compost pile. We have a lot of deer poop in our woods. Can this be used in a compost pile?

That is a good question! From what I understand Deer are veggie eaters, so I can't see why you couldn't use it. I'm not an expert though, so I would wait for the experts to chime in on this one.

Re: Deer Poop in Compost?
Welcome to the forum. Yes it can because they are not meat eaters. Lucky you! I have a half dozen deer who pass through my place every day, chomping on every flower and veggie in sight, but they aren't even courteous enough to leave a little something behind for the compost pile.
Re: Deer Poop in Compost?
I would use it, why not. Deer and goats are in the same family.. they give the round pellets most of the time easy to use.

Good idea! I'll have to grab a bucket and take a walk in the woods this weekend.
