I'm SF"G"reen with envy. You have done a fantabulous job with your garden!!!!! It's wonderful. I can't wait to plant mine. Finally got the mix. Still finalizing organic seed choices.

On your cukes, melons and squash I would definitely use the clippings. I don't think mixing a little in the soil around them would hurt either. But for sure I would mulch around them. The beans and peas should fix themselves after your mix moisture is under control.
Once your moisture problem is fixed, the leaves on your peppers will probably turn a lush dark green, and your celebrity should show signs of life again.

Hmm. Your mix shouldn't be muddy. There is a drainage problem somewhere. What is drainage like in the ground where you are? Do you find that rain puddles on the ground after it rains?

Re: Pictures of my First SFG!
Our ground is nearly impossible to dig into it is so hard. Under my garden is some weed block material. It only seems muddy or mushy at the very very bottom. It is very dry at the top. I would say it is in 4 layers, dry, moist like a wrung out sponge, moist, and thick and moist. The bottom level seems very heavy compared to the rest which makes me say muddy it is almost dough like. Odd description I know.

My first harvest!
My first harvest is 2 small tomatoes. We ate them right away. Delicious! As soon as we ate them my four year old asked for more tomatoes. Very excited for more to turn red.
