Some minor bumps
Hi, Boffer (and all the other folks in charge of the nuts and bolts of the site) --
Just a couple of minor hiccups for you to think about:
a) A lot of times, when I go to a page, the formatting doesn't load correctly, and the entire page is crammed onto about 6 lines about 1/4 of the way down the page. If I hit reload, everything resets just fine. This happens whether I'm reading a new thread, replying to an existing thread, or whatever...it's pretty random, with no preference as to when it mashes it all together. I use Firefox, if that helps any.
Hiya, I like your new avatar! I've had several contacts from members sharing oddball symptoms that go away when they refresh, or switched to IE. The one thing they have in common is FF, but I haven't pursued it any farther as to build, etc. I use FF 3.03, and haven't had problems.
b) Is there some way to log in without losing the page? When I get an email alerting me to a reply to a thread I'm watching, it prompts me to log in (which it should). Problem is, I log in, and it sends me to the main forum, and being a bear of very little brain, I don't always notice which thread it was pointing to...so I have to go back to the email and click on the link again. Not a big deal, but a little irritating.
I think so too. The log-in is set up to re-direct to the forum index page. Partly for security measures. I'll forward this to the whiz kid to see if he has a workaround.
c) This one is really low on the priority list -- does it have to launch a new window to open the forums from the main site? Might be a little smoother if it just redirected.
I'm assuming you mean the forum link on the website http://www.squarefootgardening.com/
I don't have access to website code to make changes, just on the forum.

I'm still looking! The PM e-mail notification works just right by leaving me on the inbox page after logging in.
Getting redirected to the index when I want to see a post is a pain!
reluctantly closing this thread
