Hello from Asheville, NC
Hi all, looking forward to starting my SFG experience. Read the book, got my seeds, just have to make my 4X4 and soil mix, and I will be good to go! Gonna start out small this year and see how it goes. Looking forward to asking questions and seeing what happens!

Welcome to the forum and to SFG, Mitch! Sounds like you are on your way. Please let us know if you have questions, and also we love to see pictures!
Re: Hello from Asheville, NC
Welcome to the forum. I've lost track, either NC or TX is leading the way for new members this spring! Honestly, I think starting out small to 'see what happens' is the best way to do it. The reasons to continue gardening the second year are always different than the reasons we started to garden the first year. Quote me on it!

Very nice to have you here.
Starting small is just what Mel adivses. (Of course, look out for next year)
Please ask questions when you have them, and comment on other poster's questions if you have info they can use.
Let us know how your garden is progressing and please post photos, we them.
Again, Welcome!

hello Asheville
I am also just starting and also live in Asheville. We should share ideas as we come across them. Do you know other local folks doing SFG? I have my boxes built and will filling them up with Mel's Mix this weekend. I am ready to start planting as soon as the cold weather is over.
Cheers

Re: Hello from Asheville, NC
Hey Cody, there is a couple who lent me the SFG book that have been doing using this method. Also, I drove by Sunny Point this AM and while I always noticed they had gardens for their restaurant, it looks to me that they do the SFG method as well. I could be wrong, but it looks pretty close! I am going to start my seeds this weekend, and head up to Reems Creek Nursery and see what they have available mixture wise.

Welcome! I feel so left out being in Gibsonville (near Elon and Burlington). I will say there are more NC people here than I thought.
