Teacher symposiums
What has happened to the Teacher symposiums? Are they all going to be left coast based? Nothing, as of my last look, is showing on the east coast. Just wondering why there is such a bias against the East Coast .

Re: Teacher symposiums
Maybe they need a host and an Eastern location... I would doubt it's a biased issue in any case, there was a symposium in Vermont last year and there is one scheduled for Toronto.
Re: Teacher symposiums
Hey Guys, great question
We do symposiums based on who invites us and where there is a group excited enough to want to form their own. If you guys want a 3 day symposium anywhere in the country, YOU CAN! Here are the requirements.
1.You have to have enough people interested to have us come down there (usually between 20-30 is about what we can handle at a time)
2. You have to be willing to do a little footwork in finding appropriate venues for what we do (a conference center or place where we can teach, some SFG gardens that we can go to for workshops, etc) Also things like food and those type of logistics.
The same applies to having us over to teach normal classes or lectures. Victoria and Myself go and speak at various functions. We teach many classes across the US. What most people have done is they contact a local university, gardening center, nursery, Master gardener meeting, etc to help sponsor the project and we will go to where you guys are at and help out! Nurseries are great because they say tell them that someone from the Square Foot Gardening Foundation would love to teach a class at their nursery, they make promotional materials to bring people in(if done correctly, we usually have over 100 people come to these single classes) The nursery benefits from lots of people in their store and we get to out and mix with all you our wonderful SFG people!
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions. Alan
