Hi from Missouri
Hi! I live near St. Louis Mo. I just finished reading the All New Square Foot Gardening book and it sounds like a great idea. I haven't looked at any posts on this site except for this new members forum yet. I planted tomatoes several years ago and didn't realize I was supposed to stake them and they grew wild about 6 inches high all over the garden. But they were good if they didn't sink to the ground and rot.
This way of gardening sounds so much better so I'm going to try it out this year. I love the step by step instructions on how to do EVERYTHING! I hope I'm not starting too late. If I have time I want to get my SFG built this weekend.

The ALL NEW SQUARE FOOT GARDENING book is great isn't it. Build your box, fill it with Mel's mix and then plant, water, nurture and harvest.
Ask questions and we will try to help. You will find this is a great group of people. Please keep us posted on your progress, and post pictures if you can.
Again, Welcome!

Hi Junebug, welcome to the forum and to SFG!
This is a great place, and Square Foot Gardening is quite a lot of fun. You have plenty of time to get started; it's only March after all!

Hey Junebug, glad to see you made it over here. You will learn so much so fast, I hope you don't find smoke pouring from your ears........mine just stopped smoking. The people are incredibly nice, and everyone is here to help any question you have.
I am down by 44 and 270 close to the former hotspot of Crestwood Mall. I would love to see pictures of your setup when you get rolling in the SFG format. I bet you will never go back to another way.

Welcome
Welcome to the forum, Junebug. I'm in the southeast part of Missouri, between Sikeston and Poplar Bluff. It's always great to see another Missourian on the forum.
There are lots of nice folks here who are always happy to help if they can. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
Keep us posted as your garden progresses.

Re: Hi from Missouri
Thanks for all the welcomes! I'm pretty excited about this. My family looks at me like I'm nuts. But that's probably because of my previous attempts and failures. I know this will work. It's seems too simple to fail. I'll post pictures when I have it all set up.

junebug,
Welcome from the cold, white state of Maine.
I started 3 springs ago and I've loved every minute of it. I learn something new all the time and the folks on here are so helpful in sharing their successes and failures so its ongoing learning all the time.
Good luck and enjoy the wonderful harvests.
