horse manure opportunity question
I have a friend who said I could pillage her grandmother's corral for last summer's horse manure. I'd have to scoop it pile by pile.
I'm still deciding if the sweat equity would be worthwhile.
The question is, would last summer's poo count as composted? hot? cool? do I have to compost it still? Could I use it right away?
If I should be able to tell by looking at it, what am I looking for?
This summer there will be fresh poo I can get evidently.
I'd rather find people with a barn they clean out regularly... and just take what I want from the giant poo pile.

Horse poo
Peggy, there were some threads posted last summer about using horse manure, pros and cons. You could use the search feature and check them out if you like.
Pros - good quality manure, cheap
Cons - may contain weed seeds or chemicals, even after composting
