Something odd is happening in my garden. I have planted both shell peas and sugar snap peas. I planted the shell peas a week or so before the snap peas in different beds.

The shell peas are growing, flowering and producing well. The snap peas are about 32.5-3 feet high but have yet to produce a flower, and therefore no peas. It looks a little eerie. In a third bed I have some younger sugar snaps and no flowers on them either but it may be too early.

Has anyone heard of this before? I have never seen a veg like this not even produce one flower. Odd.

Are the shell peas Bush and the snap peas Vine? That might cause a delay in the flowering.

Did you notice your snap peas were 32.5 ft high? Shocked

my snap peas (in the spring) all got to be around 4 feet tall before they produced a single flower. and then they exploded with flowers. it was wild.

i think you just need a bit more patience in this case - i am guessing any time now you'll start seeing flowers. it was truly wild in my case - there were none, and then there were many everywhere.

and then we had peas lots and lots of sugar snap peas.

mine were mammoth sugar snap and alaska snap. . hth some (perhaps you are using similar varieties?)

we discovered we LOVE snap peas because of that - and this coming spring, will be planting up many many beds - because we never ended up having any to freeze - everyone ate them all.

and we also enjoyed eating the blossoms as well as the tender pea leaves. yummy!

Our sugar snap peas reached about 4 ft before they began to flower and produce. Now they are going crazy. We planted ours at the end of Sept. Our weather has been weird though. Gona be 80f tomorrow!

Hope yours do something soon!
