Tomato Produce in Texas
As I stated in Carolyns post, I am impressed and going to build a greenhouse for tomato's .
The money is now in a special business account, the plans are all laid out!
The potting shed that has been converted into a leather shop will again be a potting / propogation shed.
Order of events
1. Clean out two bays of the garage
2. Purchase lumber sheet rock etc
3. Build out garage creating a 12 x 24 leather shop, a 12 x 16 store front and a 12 x 8 FDA certified kitchen for canning.
4. Relocate leather stuff to new leather shop
5. build new tables and hang grow lights in potting shed
6. start tomato seeds
7. order green house materials
8. tear down RV storage shed (save lumber) 20' x 40' and 15' tall
9. rebuild greenhouse frame in RV shed location with RV shed material new side walls will be 6' tall and peak will be 9' (20 x 40)
10. Install Greenhouse film , heaters, vents fans, irrigation
BUILD SFG BOXES
11. Set sfg box's inside greehouse on top of weed cloth ( 20' x 40 ' )
Note the plan is to put 4- 2' wide and 2-1' wide boxes all being 36' long = 360 sq ft, if I plant one tom per foot = 360 plants
12. mix mels mix, 1/3 peat, 1/3 verm, 1/3 chicken litter compost, and a rabbit manure top dress.
13. fill boxes
BY NOW SEEDLINGS SHOULD BE READY TO TRANSPLANT Hoping for thanksgiving weekend to be all planted
14. transplant
15. nurture, baby , check temps etc
16. Harvest and sell
I will start taking pictures this evening to catalog the events, wish me luck, if I go broke I can blame carolyn! HAHAH Just kidding, I will blame the chickens
