How much produce from your SFG's?
In the back of a journal I keep. I have been writing down the date and how much I have harvested. I have always done this with my gardens. At the end of the season it is so rewarding to see how much I have contributed to my dinner table.
In Mel's book there is a list of all you can get from one 4x4 in the early season.
I think it would be interesting, if at the end of the season to see how much you have gotten from how many squares. If you can and freeze, how many pints, quarts etc. I have a total of 90 squares in veggies, and 32 in herbs. I have always grown in rows, so this will be interesting to me to see the end results.

I think it is a great idea and should also help to see if you are utilizing your garden to its fullest potential. AS of now I am getting so impatient to harvest I may go out and pick my green Early Girl and spray paint it red.

LOL you've been hanging around with Pacific Northwest gardeners too long! More summers than not, that's what we resort to in September!

At least you have the green tomatoes, I don't even have that. The tomatoe plants should go in the ground this weekend.

Honestly I have no room to complain. So Cal is a great garden area and once I get going (started in March) I should have a year round harvest. Typical lack of gratitude on my part!
Slowly Having More
I think the first thing we got in our garden was the lettuce. Since it was leaf lettuce I counted by the meals. We probably got 10 or 12 meals worth of leaf lettuce for the 6 of us. My son's radishes were enough for a kid's handful which was fine with him. I just pulled 3 handball sized yellow onions today. I'm thinking potatoe soup with fresh onions with those

I've had 32 radishes (the yummy French breakfast ones) and two big dinner-sized salads with the first lettuce.
The lettuce is ready to pick again already.

I don't know if we could count how much we're getting. So far we've harvested some spinach and that's just been some leafs here and there. We've also gotten some small radishes. But on the other hand the romaine is looking good even though it's still on the small side. I've been thinking of trying it as baby lettuce.
