Update on my first Fall garden
It finally rained last night, I can't even remember when the last rain was. We are in a serious drought around here. I've been watering my boxes & everything is coming along great.
I'm glad we like pictures on this forum:
RUTABAGAS
CAULIFLOWER with some onions from seed
Savoy cabbage
Savoy cabbage is starting to head - I think the crinkly leaves are so pretty.
Two tomatoes trying to hang in there. After the plants got blight, they put out new growth on top & bloomed again.
Brussels sprouts
general view from the porch

Beautiful!
Thanks for sharing your pictures. I'm going to show them to DH when he gets home. Your garden is beautiful.
I wish we had made longer beds instead of 4x4s.
We got rain, too! Thank God. I had just told DH I was going to have to water the beds if we didn't get any rain, and it came at about midnight here. Lots of loud thunder.
Keep up the good work. It is very encouraging to me.

Re: Update on my first Fall garden
If you do the longer beds, I recommend 3' wide. One of mine is 3', the others are 4' wide & harder to reach to the center for planting.
