3 Day Symposium Info. Sept. 23-25 2010
Howdy Folks: The following info is from the main SFG Website. Mary and I attended the Vermont 2010 Symposium and we both heartily endorse anyone who wishes to become certified to teach the SFG Method to attend. You will learn a tremendous amount and have a blast. God Bless, Ward and Mary.
3 Day Symposium information.
There is no better way to learn to teach Square Foot Gardening than coming to our 3 day symposiums. You will learn hands on from our Certified teachers. Click on the events on the left or the calendar to get the dates and location of our next class.
Not only does certification allow you to teach, but will give you the option of having an SFG business. This course is not to learn Square Foot Gardening, but to become certified to teach the method.
Upon successful completion of the program, you will become certified in Square Foot Gardening and officially endorsed by the SFG Foundation.
DATES: Symposium will go from Thursday, Sept. 23rd starting at 10:00 a.m. through Saturday, Sept. 25th, 1:00 p.m. and the symposium will be held at the Red Moose Lodge Club House.
COST: $165 tuition per person or $215 tuition per married couple (Does not include transportation, lodging, or meals.)
DIRECTIONS: From the airport, go North on I-15 to Ogden, take the exit for 12th Street (Exit #344) to Ogden Valley and head East (towards the mountains). Follow signs to Liberty and Wolf Mountain. Turn left at the dam and follow that road, staying to the left at the fork. Turn left at the four-way stop (Maverick Station) and take the first left on 2550 North (Eats of Eden), and proceed to the end of the road.
INSTRUCTORS: Mel Bartholomew & Team. All classes will be held in the Red Moose lodge Club House. The hands on workshop will be outdoors in a local garden. Bring your camera.
LODGING: 1 and 2 bedroom condos are available right on the Red Moose Lodge property and additional 2 and 3 bedroom condos are available at the Moose Hollow condos just across the road and down the hill about a 10 min walk, ALL condos have kitchens. There is a gas station and a great country grocery store just 2 miles down the road.
Red Moose Lodge reservations, call 801-745- 6667 or go to http://www.theredmooselodge.com/
For summer fun, there is a reservoir for boating, water skiing, fishing or swimming, nearby are watercraft rentals. Everything you need, winter or summer, to make your stay the best ever.
Anderson Cove Campground No reservations needed after Sept. 1
No full-hookups or electricity; dump and water station available. 801-745-3215. Overlooks Pineview Reservoir, which is about a 10-minute drive to Red Moose Lodge.
Want to economize? Share a condo with someone else coming to the symposium. This cuts the prices in half for a 2 bedroom/2 bath condo or in thirds for a 3 bedroom/3 bath condo. When you call to reserve a room, mention you are interested in this and they will try to match you up with another interested person or couple.
LOCATION: The closest airport is Salt Lake International and Eden is an easy 1-1/4 hour drive north of Salt Lake City, up Ogden Canyon near Pineview Reservoir. Eden may not be on the map, but nearby Huntsville usually is. Unfortunately, there is no airport van service up to our remote location so it is best to rent a car at the SLC airport, if we know your ETA, we can possibly match people up to share a car rental.
