Roasted TOMATO SOUP
I combined the 2 recipes from 2 videos.
Roasted the tomatoes.

Then follwed most of these steps.
Next time, I'll only add 1/2 cup cream. I think 4 cups is way too much.

I Got Bored!
I really got aggravated trying to follow all of the videos.
I love tomato soup and I learned a lot of tips, but the way they made so many different videos instead of one DROVE ME CRAZY!!
I don't have high-speed out here in the country, so I had to keep waiting for each video to stop and upload, stop and upload. So, frustrating.
Reading some of the ugly comments, I see I wasn't the only one. They can get nasty, can't they?
Great recipes, great info, bad presentation.
Too bad I can't get our son to eat tomatoes or I would have a large pot of it for dinner. Yummy.
Maybe I'll make a mini-version for my lunch. I'll let you know how it turned out if I get enough energy to make it just for me.
Update - Dear Sweet Daughter just called and said she is making soup for dinner and we're invited! No cooking for me today!! I LOVE that Child of mine!

Re: Roasted TOMATO SOUP
Youtube hates my poor, outdated computer, so I can't watch it, but it's a moot point since I already made soup out of the last batch of tomatoes. Must be a day for tomato soup! Sigh, I am going to really miss garden-fresh tomatoes this winter.

Yep! And here I sit with probably 20lbs of cherry tomatoes in the freezer just waiting for time to make some more soup.RoOsTeR wrote:Another idea for all those tomatoes

Re: Roasted TOMATO SOUP
That sounds so wonderful! One year I didn't have many larger tomatoes and needed more so I used my cherry tomatoes in my spaghetti sauce. I will definitely have to make roasted tomato soup, if more of my tomatoes will ripen already!

My big old Brandywine vine is starting to ripen. I think we'll have 3 ready in a day or so...maybe we'll try a small batch of the soup? I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the recipes
