I,, meaning Me , picked 5 watermelons last night and they were not even close to being ripe, My LW is not happy with me at all, now she can still use the rinds for pickles but that is beside the point ,, I picked them too early, and its all my fault,, dog house for the bird, for days, maybe even weeks, at least there are still several more to pick later. I should have picked just one and cut it! Dad gum watermelons why couldnt they have been ripe??? the sugar babies were over ripe again I think next year I will stick to canteloupes they are easy to tell if ripe.

Really sorry to hear about that, Jay Bird. I am growing watermelons for the first time myself. I found a variety that supposedly turns yellow when it was ripe, I figured I needed all the help I could get! (Watch me mess it up anyway.)
