Heirloom seeds
I am placing my Fall order & usually order from Rare Seeds/Baker Creek, but I checked out http://www.heirloomseeds.com/main/index.html
They have a very nice variety of seeds - over 30 lettuce varieties. One drawback is that they don't have any pictures. I placed an order, we'll see how it goes.

my experience with heirloom seeds
I am trying to get an order filled from heirloom seeds and am having a terrible time. My order was placed at the very beginning of May and my credit card charged immediately, but I have not recieved my order. twice I have been assured that it has been resent, but to no avail (and no shipping information shared). my last communication has not been returned from heirloom seeds, although the credit card processing service they used has been doing an admirable job. Although I can't tell, I think that they (heirloom seeds) picked up a company that was in financial trouble and may not be honoring their orders (or perhaps didn't get them?) so it may not be a usual case of poor service, but experience is not positive though. I think I will be contacting my CC company and reversing the charges, which is a shame to me since they seem to have such a nice variety of wonderful seeds.

update on my seed order
since I shared my experience with my seed order, after 6 or 7 separate communications with the credit card processing center regarding my order, I finally recieved them yesterday - everything I had hoped for, just 12 weeks after I placed my order. The thing that was so dissapointing was the supplier never once contacted me to assure me my order was on its way and I was lead to believe they would be shipped in 2 weeks.
Anyway, I now have a wonderful selection of seeds, many of which are too much for my endevors - so I will be posing on the seed exchange next
Happy gardening

Rare seeds
For what its worth I placed an order a month ago with rareseeds.com (baker creek) and received the order within a few days. Perfect service. Perhaps there was one particular seed that was holding up your order? Who knows? Sorry you had a bad experience.

Re: Heirloom seeds
I'm sorry you had such bad luck with your order, but don't post your seeds on the seed exchange yet! save them for next year. You will have a head start on next year's garden.
seeds
I have pulled out all the seeds I might need for years and years - the ones I have posted for exchange are just the ones I know I won't use. I am happy I have got my seeds now - and will save the ones that arent fall crops for next year - and will enjoy the variety for years to come I am sure.
