i posted picture updates of my maze gaden a little while back. it only just occured to me that a better way to keep up weekly with my growth is by doing a video walk through. i made my first video tour of the garden and put it on Youtube. i plan to do this each week and post it there for others to see the progress but also for me to be able to look back from year to year and see the changes in the garden. here is the link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8zoq46DmkE

I hope you like it!!

any one else here doing this? i would love to see your videos as well.

Great job! (but what was that buzzing?)
There are videos hidden all over this board, finding them is a little tricky. Tim has WONDERFUL teaching videos. Sir Travers does fun shows with his children. I know there are more. I wonder if there is a search for them within the board. ???

Anyway, it looks like you are doing well. My green beans are struggling just to survive in our chilly northwest weather. I did not see any peas in your video, but peas are the prize of my garden the last couple of weeks. I'm also learning to cook with greens other than spinach. Yum-0!

Your tomatoes are just amazing!! Here in Washington state mine are not 2 feet tall yet (we really are not known for our tomatoes so much as we are for tomato lust), and my peppers? forget about it! Most of mine can still be hidden by my hands. Something else I did not see in your garden was lettuce. I am going on my 3rd month of salads. I worry that the soil will wear out before the weather warms up enough to bolt my lettuce.

Hey, did you see the thread about blossom end rot? belfreybat is having success with ground up calcium supplements in water that she uses in her tomato box. Apparently stops the problem immediately.

Deborah....thanks!

boffer - thanks for the heads up on that - i will be sure to embed the next video into my post.

tim - thanks! hang in there, if you are anything like me, it is almost painful to see things in the garden going wrong, but at the same time i gain so much knowledge from problems becasue they force me to do more research and "dig deeper" into a subject so to speak.

Deb - thanks. the buzzing is the air conditioner. it has been around 100 degrees with the "real feel" getting as high as 115 on a few days. that thing runs ALOT (we have 4 kids and one is a baby, so we do try to keep the house cool for them) i do not even notice when it is running any more, but i noticed it once i watched the video. i will be sure to turn of the A/C next time i film.

i am not doing any peas right now. just bush and pole beans. i will do some peas this fall and winter. the plan is actually to use this garden to grow food as close to year round as possible. i also plan on doing a fall/winter luttuce, greens, etc bed. it has been so hot here that any lettuce would have long since bolted.

thanks for the heads up on the thread about BER. i will look it up right now. I think that a big part of my problem is the crazy rain that we had a few weeks back. we got LOTS of rain for a while and i know that irregular and or over watering can lead to blossom end rot, but i will try the other thing for sure.

thanks again deb for all of your comments and thoughts!

chopper - yeah i love storing all my pictures and videos in the interwebs. it comes in handy becasue you can show them off any where you have internet access with out having to keep up with any memory sticks or anything.
