In the news: Biosolids in Texas.
We sometimes get questions about amendments made from biosolids. While the consensus has been that they're not good, this is the first that I've heard that they might contain high levels of PFAS.
Texas ranchers say ‘forever chemicals’ in waste-based fertilizers ruined their land
I've used such amendments in the past on my non-SFG beds, not knowing better. Came across this out in the bed, which I'm pretty sure came out of an amendment bag and is probably not the kind of supplement the plants want:
As the saying goes, if you come to a fork in the row, it's time for lunch.

Can't even imagine all of the drugs, chemicals, heavy metals, and plastics that settle out of the sewage into that sludge, which is then relabeled and sold as "Biosolids" to introduce into the food chain.

Re: In the news: Biosolids in Texas.
Today's biosolids are not like our ancestors' biosolids. We take more medicine and hormones, are exposed to more plastics, than they were.
