Hi! I'm re-reading my SFG book and researching supplies to get started with my first 4x4 garden.

Welcome to the forums from Ohio!  Glad to have you here, and looking forward to further discussions about your adventure into SFG.  There are a lot of very helpful members here that are more than willing to share their knowledge with you as you seek advice. And, we love pictures! Very Happy

Jjean, Welcome to the Forum from California. glad you\'re here I don't know how old your SFG book is, but if you have an edition of ALL NEW Square Foot Gardening (rev. Ed, 2nd Ed, or 3rd Ed.) with raised beds filled with Mel's Mix and topped with a grid, you are good to go.

Hi, Jjean, is that Alabama!?  (I clicked on Montgomery, AL and it said something about Montgomery County, PA ...  )

If so, I'm up here at the top of the state.   A slightly different zone for temps but what we're usually told is we're 10 days behind B'ham - the master gardener/extension charts are using B'ham frost dates.  Would love to compare notes if I got the state right! Smile

I started and joined here last Spring.

She gave here zip code as 36109, which is Montgomery, Alabama, home of Maxwell AFB where I spent considerable time in a former life, and a little south of Birmingham.

I'm still figuring out how to use this forum...its a little frustrating..

YES! I'm in Montgomery, AL - the picture is from our late October beach trip to Orange Beach. My dad was stationed at Maxwell while I was in High School and I stuck around and went to college here because I had met "the one!"  Razz
