Three sisters
since previous thread skewed off in an weird direction.
I thought we could discuss mixed square planting
and companion planting in beds.
such as 2 bush bean plant and two sweet corn plants in 1 ft square
repeated in 16 squares in 4ft x4ft bed or 4ft x 8ft bed. using
mel suggested 4 early sweet corn plant per square foot in 4ft x 4ft bed
for total 64 ears it seemed work well for him. he also suggested the same
would work in 4ft x 8ft and give 128 ears.
but i hope planting beans and corn would be good match.

Fascinating. I've not heard of this.
So you could theoretically do the Three Sisters?

Of course you could, it is just a form of companion planting. The question is, "Does it provide any benefit over standard planting?"
Meanwhile, there are a number of threads on this subject that you might want to explore rather than starting another one:

Never plant without a bucket of compost at your side.
