Three Sisters question
I have 3 x 4 SFG beds and want to try the three sisters but have to contain the trailing pumpkin inside the bed as I need to use the pathways around the bed. Would one pumpkin be the maximum under these conditions?

Re: Three Sisters question
Not sure you can contain a pumpkin vine within a 3'x4' area - ours grow about 20' long, with each plant having several vines off of it.

I agree, pumpkins kinda defy containment!

Re: Three Sisters question
I grew butternut squash and acorn squash along with corn (Strawberry Popcorn with 2 plants in each of 12 squares) in a 3x6 bed this year. The squash vines are long but I just kept wrapping them around the edges of the bed so that they remained mostly confined within the bed with some leaves overhanging.
