Night hunting for Tomato Hornworms
I wanted to share this nighttime photo of someone hunting for pests at night with a black light. The tobacco hornworm is the most common found on tomatoes. I used a head lamp with a red filter when I had hornworms years ago and it worked well. But, using a black light is another way. Tell me a kid wouldn't want the job of holding the light! The person bought a 2-pack cheap off Amazon.

Those UV lights are handy to have if you camp out in hot, dry areas frequented by scorpions. They glow just like hornworms, so just shine the UV light around and under your sleeping bag before tucking in for the night.

Thank you for this helpful tip!
I am so thankful you posted this! I had several devastating tomato hornworms this year and had a lot of difficulty locating them. I have a blacklight my mom gave us when she found out we periodically see scorpions. It is so helpful to know this could also help me locate hornworms in the future!
