Wilting Tomato Plant
Hi I have 4 tomato plants but only 1 has an issue.
It wilts every day. I water it and it comes back ok but then the next day it is wilted again even though the ground is still wet. Then I water it and it comes back and wilts again.
I was thinking maybe verticulum wilt. The lower leaves are a little yellow but the rest of the plant perks up fine. There was a store bought tomato plant in front of it that did poop out and I had to pull it.
Any ideas?
It's a mortgage lifter
Thanks!

This sounds like the tomato plant was not able to develop deep roots to pick up moisture. It perks up when there is surface water, but then wilts again as soon as that moisture is used up. Infrequent deep watering instead of frequent shallow watering causes the plants to develop deep roots to search for water and nutrients.

Mortgage Lifter—what a great name! I am having the exact same issue with my Mortgage Lifter as you are, karynne. My plant however has not set fruit, and the other 3 have. It has been witty forever. Today I thought it looks worse.
I am pulling mine and will not replant nightshade plants there for a few years. Not sure, I have never had this unissued—in a container on my south side of the house. No soil involved. Not sure. I will take a better look tomorrow and make a decision, but I don’t want to jeopardize my whole tomato harvest.
