Stroke - Country Naturals
Dear friends, Suz's daughter, Katie, sent me a PM letting me know that Suze had a stroke and is in the hospital. She does have some left-side affects. She will be transferred to a physical therapy facility Tuesday or Wednesday. With Covid-19, she can't receive any visitors, so Katie got her a new iPhone so Suz can get emails.
Here is the new email for Suz:
loveyourpetexpo@gmail.com
PS: Suz and I are in Pacific time.

Re: Stroke - Country Naturals
Thanks, Molly. You can send an email directly to Suz wishing her a speedy recovery. She is kind of isolated right now.
Re: Stroke - Country Naturals
Oh no! Will be praying for her.

That is bad new to wake up to! Lifting her up in prayer!

Re: Stroke - Country Naturals
This evening, I spoke to Suz's daughter for an update. Suz had a bad day today, very depressed with realizing the full impact of the stroke. The left side is affected, including her speech. Six weeks of being away from home without any family being able to visit!!

Sanderson, can you find out if she's able to type? Or if her language centers were impacted can she even read? I sent her an email a few days ago but no response. I don't expect a big reply, but knowing her, she would have said something in return, but she might not be able to. I sure hope she's OK.

I haven't received another reply since her first one. I put in a call to her daughter and left a message. When she calls back, I will update.
Re: Stroke - Country Naturals
What terrible news!
I just sent her a brief e-mail.
In 1966, my mother had a brain aneurysm. She was semi-comatose for more than four months. I sincerely hope that Suz heals completely; my mother did not, although she lived to be 73. Medical treatments and technology, not to mention PT, have improved vastly since then, so I think we can be optimistic.

Re: Stroke - Country Naturals
Good news. Katie called me back and brought things up to date. Suz is now in a rehab facility in Crescent City, a beautiful ocean side town on the northern coast of CA. It does take 5 hours to drive there and most of it is in a cellular dead zone. This facility has intensive rehab so she may be able to go home in two weeks, rather than 6 weeks in the rehab at the one close to home.
Katie set up the Forum as an icon on her phone, and expects that Suz will reply to emails this evening or tomorrow. Suz is a lefty and is having to do everything with her right hand so replies will probably be short.

Update
My mom (Suz -Country Naturals) is working very hard at the rehabilitation center and gets a little stronger every day. I can’t wait until she comes home. Keeping her garden going and adding a new drip system for her tomorrow. She will get back to you when she can and is thankful for your prayers and good wishes.

Thank you for the update Katie. I pray for a speedy and full recovery for your Mom. We are all missing her contributions to the forum and look forward to her return to our SFG family.LoveYourPet wrote:My mom (Suz -Country Naturals) is working very hard at the rehabilitation center and gets a little stronger every day.
