SfG Journey:using freezer for SFG bed
Has anyone tried using upright freezers for SFG beds. I thinking about using 6 for beds, but I have to find them. Any ideas on how to go about finding them?

Never tried it, but they practically give away used appliances around here at yard sales, estate sales, Craigslist, and local Facebook ads. There are FB groups that start with our area code: 530Needs, 530Pets, etc., where folks offer merchandise at giveaway prices. Maybe they do that in your area, too. Good luck.has55 wrote:Has anyone tried using upright freezers for SFG beds. I thinking about using 6 for beds, but I have to find them. Any ideas on how to go about finding them?

Never heard of that, but I know people that are using chest freezers for worm bins, and they work good for that.
Here we have several recycle centers were we take our scrap metal, etc., to sell. They always have an excess of old refrigerators & freezers that people have taken in (minus the coils and compressor), and they will sell them for the going rate of scrap iron. Might check to see if there are places like that in your area.

That is an interesting idea. They would be rather deep though.has55 wrote:Has anyone tried using upright freezers for SFG beds. I thinking about using 6 for beds, but I have to find them. Any ideas on how to go about finding them?
I bet you can find them on Craigslist, FaceBook, Appliance repair shops

When I first started sfg I used old kitchen cupboards. They came from a house that was being renovated down the road a bit. The contractor was more than happy to drop them off at my house.

I decided against the fridges, but going to use my left over cattle panels and cover with weed cloth from agriculture solution. Boy, I love this place, their prices are great.
I'm looking at this fabric-
SRW Products, GC3 Ground Cover Weed Barrier, Woven 3oz, 15 Year (3ft x 300ft)
