Growing Kale
Sounds delicious; it is one of my main vegetables and is very easy to grow,

Re: Growing Kale
Same here. I grow the dwarf curly. It survives our insane summers and never gets tough or bitter. It lasts for a full year before turning into a tree and getting replaced.IrishDigger wrote:Sounds delicious; it is one of my main vegetables and is very easy to grow,

Re: Growing Kale
I am now growing Dwarf Curly blue Vates for a 3rd year..not sure why. I can’t do it. It’s tough, just not into cooking it. It grows like a weed...

Re: Growing Kale
My kale bolts too easily. So I grow it as an ornamental plant.

Re: Growing Kale
Kale is always given space in my SFG. I use it mainly in green smoothies.

Re: Growing Kale
Here's how kale grows if they can overwinter:
I've had them grow a little over 6 feet in the past, but winds eventually blew them down.
Baker seeds has a variety that claims to grow 20 feet. I think I might try that.
