Book Report on High Value Veggies
Got the book in a few days ago! SO excited!!
Like all of Mel's books, it's chock-full of good information. I will be adding notes to my spreadsheet....
As everyone knows, Mel was a numbers guy. It certainly shows here. And there's some surprising information on just how high (or low) some of the financial paybacks can be in growing items.
The only thing I wasn't happy with was the size of the font. My eyes are getting older & it's harder to see small fonts. I know it's an industry trend right now. And I'm all for saving trees!. But it makes it difficult. They had room to use a larger font. Wish they would have. Kim, can you pass that on for me?
But overall I think it would be a good addition to any SFG's library! It may help you decide on what to grow or what to pass on...

Not only is the font too small it is also much too light. Very hard on these old eyes. They must think we all have perfect, youthful 20/20 vision.Scorpio Rising wrote:Nice! I am with you on the font size!
Still, it's a good book with some valuable information.

Feedback is important. Font size (and lightness) can be critical to enjoyment of reading.

Re: Book Report on High Value Veggies
As you probably know, the current thinking is thinner, lighter print as a cost-savings measure. I hate it too.
I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle
