Hello from Mid-Tennessee
I've been here three years, still trying to wrap my head around a garden that goes past Labor Day (coming from New England, after all).
Today I added compost to my SFG and planted broccoli, carrots, spinach, and peas. I'm thinking of getting the pop-up critter blocker and covering it with a sheet on cool days to extend my growing season. I got a cool (and cheap) plastic covered dome last spring but the wind tore it to shreds.

Re: Hello from Mid-Tennessee
Hi TN Girl, Welcome to the Forum! A winter garden does not need to be covered unless the temps drop below 28*F. Many plants also survive a little snow. Just have the frames ready for if and when you need to cover. And, uncover on sunny days for sure or the plants will fry!
Re: Hello from Mid-Tennessee
Howdy, TN Girl! I lived in Nashville for 6 years! It does get cold there in short bursts. You should give it a try, all you have to lose are some fairly inexpensive seeds!
What do you like to eat? (Not tomatoes for winter!)

Hi NHGirlinaTNworld. I'm Marie with family in TN & NE & a cottage in Harrisville, NH. Welcome to our party! We're glad you're here!
Re: Hello from Mid-Tennessee
and from Redding, CA. I also garden all winter. I found that kale and carrots can survive mild winters outside. I bring everything else inside and struggle to keep them going under lights.

Hi NHGirlinaTNworld... Great username! (we used to call them 'handles' back in my day. ) Photos are always welcome.
Lucky you to be able to keep things going longer. When is your new-to-you first frost date?
