I am compiling a variety of composts to start out while my own compost is cooking. Has anyone used the Shrimp and Seaweed Compost? Does this attract raccoons or other animals to the garden?

I've used bagged shrimp compost in my group of 5 composts when making Mel's Mix. It's well composted already so I had no problems with it attracting critters. The thing to watch out for is the amount of filler that is used in the shrimp compost. Mine was not pure shrimp compost. If I recall, it had about 25% peat moss and other materials as filler. This was true as well of other types of store bought compost. What I do is make a calculation and reduce the amount of pure peat moss in the Mel's Mix when I combine the ingredients. Generally the only compost I consider to be pure (no filler) is the stuff I make myself.

I use fresh seaweed and the shells & remains of seafood like shrimp and lobster.  And yes, the critters will come to the seafood in the compost pile if you don't bury it deeply enough.  Woke up to lobster shells all over the neighborhood one morning.   Laughing Once it's composted and spread on the garden the critters don't seem to be interested any more than usual.
If you are talking about store bought compost, sorry, I don't know anything about that.

No, it doesn't attract critters because it fully composted. Even if it's in the compost pile, if the pile is well managed, critters are not frequent visitors.

I'm using a blend of Seaweed Compost along with a Pre-blended set of sheep/cow manure.

No idea how it'll do, but I did notice it's much moister and thicker than the blended mix.

Unfortunately my compost bin did it's job too well and I don't have enough to add to the garden.
Which reminds me, I need to build a screen...

What about the salt?
Does the company have a number to find out what's the sodium content?

I don't know about the salt (I'll have to check the packaging tomorrow), but I do now that I did it in 1pt of 3 ratio, so it only makes up 1/9th of my total MM.
