SFG update pics
Truly blessed again this year.
Green beans:
White and yellow sweet Spanish onions:
Few more Onions:
Yellow and green Zukes:
A shot of my SFG: Barrels and tubs.
Two Bell peppers in a tub:
Sweet taters:
One single mater:
Maters on a string. I think I'm going to lose the ones in the center. They have a bad case of "Leaf curl".
Zukes on a trellis. Been eating them for awhile:

Everything looks so lush and green. Well done.MrBooker wrote:Truly blessed again this year.

I have a question about your onions. I found I wasted so much space with my onions this year. I did not plant them close enough together. So, how wide is the onion bed and what was your spacing. It looks just about right.

The inside to inside of the bed is 20 inches. The onions are planted on 4 inch centers. They could have been planted a little closer I think but I was expecting them to get bigger than they did.yolos wrote:Everything looks so lush and green. Well done.MrBooker wrote:Truly blessed again this year.

Nah, I used to roast them but now I boil and then pickle them in the cooking water with vinegar and Stevia to taste. YUM! Wish I could get mine to grow like yours. I grow them just for the greens now and have to buy roots.
PS I meant beet greens in the above post.

I love the bench in the middle where you can enjoy a nice beverage and take it all in.
Re: Garden pics from S/W Illinois
You musta drove by and seen me sit'n out there with a cold Bud light lime. It's been so HOT I haven't been able to sit out there much except at daylight or late evening.countrynaturals wrote: I love the bench in the middle where you can enjoy a nice beverage and take it all in.
It was beautiful this morning at 5:30 with a light rain shower and 72* as I sat on my red neck deck under the umbrella with a cup of coffee. Back up into the upper 90's next week though.

Thanks. The heat is dreadful here in the Midwest this year. Havent seen it like this in many years. Blistering hot sun every day. I heavily mulched everything this year and so glad I did but still have to water every other day.sanderson wrote:Mr. Booker, nice!
Dragging that water hose around the garden makes me thirsty... glug glug.

Thanks Fiz. The Pink girl tomato's have been a favorite of mine for many years. You can see how big some of them get and I start harvesting around the 1st of July here in zone 6A and will harvest until the frost kills them.Fiz wrote:Pardon my French but holy cr*p that's one big tomato, haha. Even though the outside skin is pink, the inside is red and juicy.
