Another beautiful day here, a bit on the muggy side at first, but then the breeze made it all better.

Warm mid-80s today! I actually had kids swimming in my chilly pool today! They were 9 and 6, which explains why they were in there! LOL! Sunny, I actually put the A/C on....

Intermittently hissing it down sideways . Muggy & sticky in between the showers .
It's making it difficult to get out in the garden to tidy things up after a bit of an overnight blow and do anything much longer than 15 min or so at a time .

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
The only difference here is cold nights. This week we will get down into the low 50s - high 40s. I've already planted seeds for indoor bush cukes, but there will be a big gap in coverage. I might just look for the smallest cuke plant in the garded and dig it up to bring inside. It's done for out there anyway, so why not try yet another experiment.
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
High today 82F with 30% chance of rain later today and tomorrow. After that it is sunny skies for five days with highs in the 77F to 84F range. Lows for the week range from 51F to 61F. We are having an absolutely amazing September. Thinking I should plant some things like radishes and spinach.
The leaves are starting to change color and I noticed some are even falling. It will soon be leaf collection time for composting.

Same here. Already planted radishes (don't like spinach).trolleydriver wrote:We are having an absolutely amazing September. Thinking I should plant some things like radishes and spinach.

Our leaves are very accommodating, here. They start falling slowly in August, right where I need them, so I can collect and use them right at the end of summer. Then, when fall gets here, they come down a little faster, in larger numbers for my autumn projects. They won't stop until our first major storm around the end of October or first week in November. By then I'll have enough to mulch all of my future beds for 2018 and add a few inches to the compost heap. This amazing free resource saves me hundreds of dollars a year and gives me the added benefit of a good cardio workout every morning, raking and spreading. Life is good!

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Finally we are having a little rain, the first since June 20th except for a 5mm sprinkle a while ago. Looking forward to my lawn greening up, and hope the weather stays not too cold so that I can get on with cleaning up and laying compost and not leaving it to the spring.
Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Remnants of Jose today, and forecasted for the next 3-4 days as it turns back on itself.
Not bad at all. Kind of like a windy spitty day.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
WOW, CC! That was definitely too close for comfort.
Here we have one more day in the 70s, then back up into the 90s for another week. Haven't checked the cukes yet this morning, but our last 2 nights have been in the 40s, so I'm not optimistic.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
We have a heat warning in effect. Highs today, Sunday and Monday are going to be 88, 88, 90F (i.e., 31, 31, 32C) respectively. But because of the high humidity it will feel like 104F (40C). This is crazy. The leaves are falling and we are getting mid-summer weather conditions.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Wow, CC.... Glad it missed you!
Here it's gonna be in the mid-80's all week apparently. Supposed to be right around 80 for "normal" temps this time of year. But in about a week, we're supposed to go below normal. ???
Of course, I certainly didn't argue with those 70's in August, lol!

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Isn't this the absolutely most gorgeous 10-day forecast you've ever seen in your whole entire life? Hmm?
If this forecast holds true, and I can hold up, by the time that rain gets here I'll have the most magnificent garden on Planet Earth! OK, so maybe I tend to exaggerate a tiny bit on rare occasions, and just maybe that 4 months of triple-digit sunshine may have fried a few brain cells, but this ol' gal is gonna make up for lost time!

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Good for you, Suz!!!!
Here, it is the same forecast, but way hotter than normal for the upper Midwest in September! Only the peppers and some of the tomates are still going out there, and the weeds of course!
93* today, nights in upper 60s. Supposed to break later in the week.

Re: How's the Weather Where You're At?
Hot and humid. We will be setting another record temperature for this day with a high of 90F expected. With the humidity it will feel like 104F. I can't do much in the garden when it is like that. We will be getting back to seasonal temperatures later in the week with highs in the mid 50s to mid 60s and overnight lows dipping down to about 40F. That will be a drastic change after all this hot weather we have had for the past couple of weeks.

Wow, that's crazy. Your hot weather veggies must be in their glory.
Mine are all wilted from being wind blown for too long.
Another beautiful sunny mid 70's day here today.
