Cape Lookout, NC - Jun 10-23, 2016

Hubby & I will be volunteer camp hosts at Cape Lookout National Seashore from June 10-23. I was looking for things to do nearby on the mainland when we don't have to work.

Any ideas?

I guess a lot depends on what you like to do.

Just a few things off the top of my head from looking at the map of the Mainland:
1. New Bern, NC (1.25hr) - Tryon Palace; Downtown shops; Fireman's museum
2. Fort Macon (.75hr) - North end of Atlantic Beach
3. Pine Knoll Shores (1hr) - NC Aquarium
4. Kinston (2hr) - Kinston Indians Baseball, CSS Neuse Civil War submarine (yes submarine)
5. Morehead City (.75hr) - Dept. stores, The Sanitary Restaurant
6. Wilmington (2.5hrs) - Riverfront, Historic houses, Battleship NC, NC Arboretum, Airlie Gardens, Restaurants, Kay Walshevak
7. Hampstead (2.5hrs) - Golfing, me, Surf City
