Virtual Flyovers - South West Oregon
This was a nice flight for Marc Iverson. I have better scenery (a payware addon) for this area. The flight begins KEUG Eugens, goes south over KEUG, then KRBG. At KMFR Medford it turns West toward the coast. Just south of 4S! Gold Beach it heads north along the coast. We fly over our destination which is KOTH North Bend and then over Half Moon Bay. We make a 180 degree turn to head back to KOTH for an ILS (instrument) landing juts after sunset.

I love those, TD! My son who is 19 started taking flying lessons when he was 15 and got some significant cockpit time. He is in college now, poor, and no extra fun money to go pursue that hobby at present. He flew an 80s era Cessna and a new trainer Diamond Eclipse. He preferred the Cessna. LIked the steering mechanism, even though the pre-flight was 3x longer!
Our country is so beautiful!
That plane is really killer, what is it?

SR ... The plane is a Bombardier Dash 8 made in Canada but flown by airlines in many counties.

SR ... that is exactly what I thought (i.e., Che Guevara) when I first saw it. A few years ago Mrs TD and I spent a few days in Havana Cuba and went to Revolution Square where there is an image of Che Guevara on the wall of a building as seen at the following link:

Re: Virtual Flyovers - South West Oregon
SR ... We enjoyed Cuba and especially Havana. The people are friendly, very well educated but very under-employed. For example, we went on a horse and buggy ride and found out the driver was educated as an agricultural engineer. Havana is filled with old American cars from the 1940s and 1950s ... someone called it a rolling auto museum. We stood outside the USA embassy which was guarded by armed Cuban military/police personnel. At that time there were huge billboards across from the embassy with pictures of President Bush and very negative things written about him. Out hotel was fantastic. We had a room next to the presidential suite and down the hall from where Nat King Cole had and other well known performers of a past era had stayed. Before the revolution the hotel had been used as a casino. There was damage on the outside walls caused by bullets during the revolution. By the way, the food in Cuba was not very good compared to other places we have visited. Interestingly we did meet a couple of Americans who made their way to Cuba on flights from Canada or Mexico.

That is very cool. I am surprised about the food. What do you attribute that to, TD? Just the economy in general?

Re: Virtual Flyovers - South West Oregon
I think the economy and perhaps lack of some imports does affect the availability of good food. The beef seemed to be like shoe leather. We had a couple of good meals. we also stayed for a few days at a beech resort in Varadero Cuba and there we had mostly buffet type foods.
