My First Seed Catalog
Yesterday, I received in the mail the 2015 catalog from Seed Savers Exchange. Now I want ALL THE SEEDS!
Re: My First Seed Catalog
Their catalogs are very cool, and often really beautiful.

Welcome to the club!
Re: My First Seed Catalog
Great choice for the southeast. That is where I get most of my seeds.

Re: My First Seed Catalog
There aren't many seed companies I could recommend as much as this one. Their seeds are top notch. I've been buying all of my Yugoslavian Red Lettuce from them (however, I've been harvesting my own seeds lately). Have fun with your catalog. The only advice I can give is try to resist the temptation to order everything. I wish I could practice what I preach with that!

Thanks for that info, Craig, as it's been one of my concerns of getting seeds from a catalog company vs local box stores. It would be so disappointing to purchase and try to grow a variety that doesn't do well in the sweltering south.
Re: My First Seed Catalog
Me too! I think I bought more seeds than I could plant in a lifetime.

Re: My First Seed Catalog
Beckie, I wanted to mention a couple more southern-specific seed companies that have been good for me (I also live in sweltering south). I've had very good success with seeds from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange. My neighbor (a master gardener) swears by Park Seeds (also a southern-based company... South Carolina). I've had good success with Park as well.BeckieSueDalton wrote:Thanks for that info, Craig, as it's been one of my concerns of getting seeds from a catalog company vs local box stores.
