Managed to trip and injure my left wrist
Not this time. Tripped in my own garden back in China a few weeks ago. Sadly, am still wearing a wrist brace.
However, there was someone at the beach who meets the description. There was a British guy who managed to trip while I was at the beach. He literally was "tripping" at the time and then tripped and face-planted on some rocks (both ends of the beach ended in rocky promontories, one of which had a bar - so I guess that's where it happened). I'm not sure what he was on, but the next day he was wandering around showing off his lacerations and didn't seem to care. Happily I left the following morning - before he recovered enough of his wits to realize that he'd managed to seriously mutilate himself.
So, the lesson of the day is don't do illegal drugs. If you decide to ignore that lesson, the alternative lesson is, if you do illegal drugs, don't get your face near anything which could leave you permanently disfigured.
So, unlike the guy who ended up looking like he'd had himself worked over with a meat tenderizing hammer, I decided, while in full control of my faculties, to have something more artistic done to my skin while I was there.
Tattoo design
I quite like this one :

Re: Hello from beautiful Dongguan, China
So, of course, I had to order a pink T. How did you find the link?

Not quite that good. Maybe I'll get that next time. Instead, I planned a massive tattoo related joke on my wife and some other relatives. The sordid details (and photographic evidence) are here:

Maybe if I get a free few minutes I can write up more about that trip.

I'm glad someone actually read that.
More wedding stories are on the way. No, not me getting married again (despite my deep admiration for old Chinese traditions, my wife seems to have objections to me getting concubines). Instead, I've got 3 weddings in India I need to write up and also am attending a traditional Guangdong wedding this week, complete with a midnight raid on the bride's family home. That one's tentatively scheduled for the August issue of a tri-lingual local magazine.
While you're waiting, there are the first and second honeymoon stories to read.

EL, when you were a kid, did you watch Hogan's Hero's?
In one of them, Schultz meets this blond (who turns out to be gestapo) and he says something about how his mother would smack him every time he got home. She replies, "Oh, you were a naughty boy...."
That's all I could think about as I read thru your blog, lol!

Re: Hello from beautiful Dongguan, China
Yeah, I used to watch it all the time.
Sweet little innocent me, naughty? Then again, I warned the groom not to be late to tonight's bride kidnapping. Told him if he didn't arrive on time, she might already be kidnapped . . . by me.
Of course, I've always found a certain song to be very inspirational:

And, to drag myself somewhat back towards topic, if the midnight bridal raid doesn't keep me up too late, I'm hoping to get some work done on my garden this weekend.

Re: Hello from beautiful Dongguan, China
Ouch! Who ate my time? My poor garden misses me. At least it's been raining a lot so I don't have to water it every day.
In the meantime I:
Acquired a kitten.
Found out the kitten had FPV so left him a vet for a week.
Thought the kitten had recovered and took him home.
Ended up taking the kitten back to the vet the next day .
Had to go to the US for a week. No time for shopping.
Caught the flu.
Came back to find kitten finally recovered.
Designed plexiglass cat deflector for hamster cage, got my wife to order it, and it works.
Bought 6 cm wire grids to use as cat deflectors for living room and dining room windows. Got them installed.

Re: Hello from beautiful Dongguan, China
All for one tiny kitten! Photo of course. Maybe under "Pets: CATS RULE!"
Re: Hello from beautiful Dongguan, China
He's not exactly the tiniest of kittens. Stripy Emperor was 12 weeks old when we got him. He did lose out on gaining weight during the first month due to that viral infection, but seems intent on making up for it now.
I need to get some pics of him uploaded. I've just saved some from his time in "cat jail" to my hard drive. I was visiting him every day and tried to take pics most days.
