Square Foot Garden Box Design
I recently constructed this four foot square garden box with four douglas fir posts dadoed to accept 2"x6" sides. It is screwed together with 16 four inch washer head exterior screws. Posts are tapered 7 degrees at the top to shed water. All end grain of sides and posts are sealed with parafin wax to help prevent checking and rotting. I built five boxes in this manner so that Dawn can do her square foot gardening. The boxes can have hoops attached to the posts and covered with plastic to act as a mini greenhouse. Additional side slats can be added between boxes.
