Gluten Free Upside Down Birthday Cake
I share this recipe with you guys cause ti has plums and lemons from our yard and seems like I saw somewhere in here someone was gluten intolerant. Anyways here is the recipe, with pictures. If you are not gluten intolerant use your favorite cake mix. This method works great for black iron too and if done right the cake is loose in the pan floating on the topping: whhttp://cappyandpegody.blogspot.com/2015/01/gluten-free-upside-down-birthday-cake.html

Yummy. I am celiac also. Thank Peg for the cake recipe.
Maybe this year I will get plums from my young wild plum and Royal plum bushes. Meanwhile I bet that would be lovely with rhubarb.

I knew I had read somewhere on here someone was celiac as well possibly you. I am sure you will like her cake recipe it is very good she took it from a cook book and tweeked it some. She said to tell ya a teaspoon of vanilla goes in sometimes too. Any fruit works well. my recipee is any canned or fresh fruit too much butter and brown sugar.
Also FYI anything on our blog is gluten free we have a gluten free household.

gluten sensitive
Yep, I'm gluten sensitive also Cappy. My family makes most of our stuff gluten free just because of me!! I am very fortunate. We have found better and better gluten free products. It is getting to be a real industry. Gonna try that cake..

Re: Gluten Free Upside Down Birthday Cake
Glad yall appreciate it. Any fruit would do cherries dont do well down here and those loquat plums grow like weeds. Thats the simple gardeners rule use what ya got. A good thing about this upside down thing is most any sweet fruit works with the lemon cake. Plus we have our lemon tree to use when we do it.
