Adding text to my photo
I finally figured out how to post a photo. Yay! Thanks, Boffer, for your excellent instructions.
This is our very first SFG box, photo taken today. As you can see we have eight Early Jersey Wakefield cabbages, three squares of red onions, one square of pansies, one square of kohlrabies, and one square of carrots that didn't come up well and had to be replanted, and one square in the far corner which was supposed to be celery root, but only two plants survived so I planted some parsley in the skips. I have some more photos to post of the rest of the garden, so I guess I'll just keep adding them here.

Re: My SF-Style/Original Mel-Style/Row-Style Garden

When we put in our fence this spring we added a few extra feet due to the length of the hog panels. We have covered the grass with black plastic in hopes it will kill the grass this summer and we can make more beds on that side next year.
You can see our 1' x 8' boxes along the fence at the far end which contain our trellis crops. We haven't yet built our trellises.

Other crops
Cool! I got a banana. Thanks, Camprn.
You can't see the grids we made in the dirt of the beds because the rain washed them away, but the beds are 4' x 10' and we gave 3' to the sweet potatoes and melons, and in the outer rows of each bed we planted squares of bush beans, zinnias, okra, nasturtiums, a zucchini, purple hull peas, and borage.
I really goofed on one of the zinnias. I had been planting some small varieties, and I opened a packet of Green Envy and planted nine seeds in the square. Later I read on the package that it makes a giant plant and should be planted 12" apart.
Oops. I think I'll have some thinning to do.
The long boxes by the fence contain tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, mini-pumpkins, peas, muskmelons, cucumbers, summer squash, basil, and a sunflower.
I didn't get my winter onions in the photo - they are located just to the left of the sweet potato bed.
